Plastic Crusher with Vibrating Screen for Processing Liquid-Containing Bottles

This plastic crushing system was customized for a client from Spain. It consists of a 15 kW plastic crusher and a square vibrating screen.

The client is mainly engaged in recycling used plastic oil bottles. Since these bottles usually contain residual liquid, the traditional method requires workers to open each bottle cap and drain the liquid before crushing. This process is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and inefficient.

Therefore, the client wanted a solution that allows direct crushing of liquid-containing plastic bottles while automatically separating the liquid from the plastic material.

Solution Description

Based on the customer's crushing capacity requirements, we recommended a combination of a TLV series plastic crusher and a vibrating screen separation system.

The TLV series plastic crusher offers the following advantages:

  • Bearing and crushing chamber are designed separately to prevent liquid from entering the bearing system

  • Capable of crushing materials containing liquid without damaging key components

  • Equipped with a V-type blade axis design, suitable for crushing plastic bottles, films, sponges, textiles, papers, etc.

Vibrating Screen Separation Design

A square vibrating screen is installed under the crusher outlet to separate crushed plastic and liquid.

To accommodate this setup, the machine structure is specially designed:

  • An independent bottom frame is installed
  • The crusher is mounted on the upper part of the frame
  • The vibrating screen is placed directly below the crusher outlet

Working process:

  1. After liquid-containing plastic bottles are crushed, the mixture (plastic + liquid) enters the vibrating screen:
  2. The liquid quickly passes through the screen and flows to the bottom layer, then is discharged through the bottom outlet
  3. The crushed plastic flakes remain on the upper screen layer and are discharged from a separate outlet
  4. The liquid outlet and plastic outlet are positioned separately, allowing for efficient and convenient material collection.

Material & Cost Consideration

The parts of the vibrating screen that come into contact with materials are made of 304 stainless steel, which provides excellent corrosion resistance and prevents rust, thereby extending the service life of the equipment.

Due to the customer's limited budget, the plastic crusher in this configuration is not made of 304 stainless steel, helping to reduce overall cost.
